Allow setting server name for password recovery feature
When using FusionDirectory behind e.g. a reverse proxy, the recovery link in the e-mail sent to the user contains the internal name of the server, not the hostname that is reachable from the outside. It would be great to have an option to set the server name to be used in the URL that is in the recovery e-mail.

Are you positive that there is no way for FD to detect the correct URL? Could you host a small php script in the same way you do for FD that prints the HTTP headers it gets see if there is anything useful in there? Apache documentation speaks about X-Forwarded-Host

You can try to put the test.php attached in the html folder of fusiondirectory and open it as you would fusiondirectory (just put test.php instead of index.php in the url). It might output some private information too, so read it before sending it to me. The most important thing is to look if you see the server external URL anywhere in the output.

You were right, @[HTTP_X_FORWARDED_HOST]@ contains the external host name.
The variable @[HTTP_X_FORWARDED_SERVER]@ contains the host name of the proxy server (which in my case is not the same as the external hostname, because I use port forwarding on the external host to the proxy server), and @[HTTP_HOST]@ and @[SERVER_NAME]@ contain the host name of the machine running fusiondirectory. The external IP address is stored in @[HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR]@.

Could you try applying this by hand and see if it fixes your problem: https://forge.fusiondirectory.org/projects/fd/repository/revisions/3332ddccc469237f0aa635ac312e5a42865d2eca/diff/html/class_passwordRecovery.inc ? Line numbers might differ.
