Features from GOsa 2.7 that should be in FusionDirectory
My experience with GOsa 2.7 was extremely short-lived (your fault ;), and in light of the news that there won't be a merge of GOsa 2.7 into FD 1.1, I'd like to point out the few features I'd like to be backported from that tree:
-
Easy to identify locked down accounts: GOsa 2.7 shows locked account in a red background in user listings. This is very convenient, as the locked/unlocked icon is often difficult to tell apart.
-
Auto-logout timer: GOsa 2.7 will automatically log you out from the admin session if you spend more than X seconds idling. When the timeout hits, it will automatically reload the login page, avoiding others from seeing whatever (private?) data you might have been displaying in GOsa when you went idle. This already happens with FD, but you don't have a visual timer telling you when your session will expire, and a reload doesn't happen; your current page stays open until your next click, when you are redirected to login.
-
The whole configuration system via website was quite neat. I'd consider integrating that if it wasn't broken.
-
The theme seemed more usable and attractive.
