Message about MDB2 check not precise enough on the wizard

Message about MDB2 check not precise enough on the wizard

When installing fusiondirectory, the wizard says that MDB2 is not mandatory.

However, this is not true. Indeed, if you deploy FD with the class_management interface on the sources, it won't possible to use FD because a fatal error on missing MDB2.php library. So there is a mismatch between the wizard check and the real state.

Proposed solution :

  • Check if the class database_management is available ==> If YES, MDB2 check is FATAL and a warning message must be displayed telling that if you won't want to install MDB2 you must remove the database_management (BE CAREFUL ABOUT THAT, it won't be managed in the same way if you are on a packaged installation or on a source installation) ==> If NO, MDB2 check stays a warning.

      Hello,

this is not working, i still have the message

Checking for MDB2 support Warning Install and activate the MDB2 Pear module. FusionDirectory will run without fixing this.

      Cheers

      And you have database_management installed?
