Error with samba plugin and sambantpassword attribute

Hi,

I get an error when i try to delete an user with samba field activated (see screenshot). The user is deleted anyway. The same errors appears when I only disable the samba field. This time, it blocks the action and the samba properties are not removed.

The error in slapd log is: Mar 4 14:27:02 host87 slapd[7003]: Entry (uid=sambauser2,ou=people,dc=toto,dc=fr), attribute 'sambaNTPassword' not allowed Mar 4 14:27:02 host87 slapd[7003]: entry failed schema check: attribute 'sambaNTPassword' not allowed

Samba is working fine with the user and the schema is OK as well.

To me, it looks like FD is trying to delete the attributes one by one and thus is rejected regarding this attribute (same problem with sambaLMPassword if i activate it in FD configuration).

Any thoughts or help ?

can you tell us which FusionDirectory version on which os.

Also did you upgrade recently from 1.0.8.x to 1.0.9.x

i tested on demo.fusiondirectory.org :

• deleting a samba user with the samba tag activated, i got the error message
• removing a samba tab on a user and saving it, no error message

I think i found why : you need to change the password AFTER you enable the samba tag, so it creates the sambaNTPassword attribute.

I can’t seem to reproduce this. Is that on a locked user? Can you try on http://demo-1010.fusiondirectory.org/ ? (To see if the problem is still here in 1.0.10)

Indeed users won’t have sambaNTPassword until you change the password with samba tab activated, but this should not prevent removing them or disabling the samba tab.

i just added the unix and samba on the peter and put the password to the peter/user and when try to remove the samba tab i trigger the bug
