non-functional menu "Action" under IE9
Well, in reality it certainly isn't bug on side of FusionDirectory, but…
From point of view of user, he/she launch this browser (present in updated, in nowdays quite common Win Vista & 7) and realize, that clicking on button of "Action" menu produce nothing :-( Even worser, using function of this browser "compatible view" (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/How-to-use-Compatibility-View-in-Internet-Explorer-9) change nothing.
The only way (but it is possible, that I overlooked something) how to improve this, is to fire up in browser integrated "developer's tools" (F12) and change "document mode" from "adaptive" to "standards of IE9" (Alt+9) (in fact, "standards of IE8" results in functional menu too, but rendering of lists is horrible) - "Action" menu is then fully functional. But it definitely isn't much user friendly…
Some background:
It seems, that IE9 is resorting to "adaptive" in cases, if doctype of page isn't only "html". When "html", it uses, say "its native mode" (more info http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc288325%28v=vs.85%29.aspx).
Possible workaround:
Browser can be forced to previously mentioned "document mode" ("standards of IE9") by this directive in html code:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc288325%28v=vs.85%29.aspx#SetMode
with IE=9 (or EDGE) - not EmulateIE9! (in that case it would be still "honor" doctype and resort to "adaptive" mode of document) would be possible to achieve exactly what was achieved with "developer's tools".
This change wouldn't affect others browsers – they should simply ignore this additional code.
I know, there is problem with testing - you probably haven't access to machine with IE9 and it is impossible to run it under Wine (even Crossover is unable to run it). Possible, but complicated solution is to use free (in sense of price) virtual appliances from Microsoft in VirtualBox (http://www.webupd8.org/2011/09/test-websites-in-internet-explorer-9-8.html). Of course, I will be happy to test it, just provide me with patches against relevant files (FD 1.0.3).
Thanks!
