Option to make zones ending with ".arpa" visible/manageable
Greetings,
We are a telecommunications/internet service provider, that utilizes your software, as a cornerstone to our AAA system. First and foremost, we would like to thank you for your efforts, FusionDirectory is an incredible asset to us.
During our DNS configuration, we noticed that revese-lookup zones (i.e. "1.168.192.in-addr.arpa.") are being hidden from the FusionDirectory front-end, and therefore we're unable to manipulate them in any shape or form.
I understand that the intended behavior is to create forward-zones, declare reverse-zones inside of them, create the A/AAAA records and link them to one of the declared reverse-zones.
While the aforementioned method is highly convenient, we have a use case which requires us to create and manage PTR records, without creating their A/AAAA forward-counterparts. (DNS Cluster that is authoritative for the PTR records, but non-authoritative for the A/AAAA ones)
I was instructed, by MCMic via IRC, that I could edit the file "class_dnsZone.inc" and change the LDAP filter on line 574 (by removing the part responsible for excluding zones ending with ".arpa") or, that I could file a bug report for this.
Ideally we would like to at least have a setting, to be able to make the zones ending with ".arpa" visible/manageable through the FusionDirectory front-end. I understand that this option might not be for everybody, but seeing as the ability to create PTR records through FusionDirectory already exists, it would be really valuable for us.
Best regards.
