Web interface silently fails with passwords > 40 characters in length (gosa bug 1168)
The GOsa web interface does not accept usernames or passwords over 40 characters in length. Because the text fields have a maxlength="40", the data is silently truncated when it is sent to the scripts.
There's a growing faction that prefers use of long pass phrases in lieu of complex and convoluted passwords, and this silent failure tripped me up for a good few hours.
Passwords should have no built in limit, or it should be something that easily encompasses all reasonable use cases (say, 10k characters)
